Zoë Chowney

Zoë Chowney is a contemporary artist based in Hermanus, South Africa. Working across a variety of mediums; including jewellery, sculpture, painting, and drawing. Zoë’s creative practice is defined by her exploration of form, material, and meaning. Zoë graduated from Stellenbosch University with a BA in Contemporary Jewellery Design and Manufacturing in 2020, followed by an MA in Visual Arts in 2024. Her diverse body of work, whether through the fluid lines of a drawing, the boldness of a painting, or the tactile presence of a jewellery piece, consistently explores themes of identity, transformation, and the relationship between the organic and the industrial. Zoë pushes the boundaries of what art can be, inviting viewers to engage with her pieces in a deeply personal and thought-provoking way.
