Biography
Zanne (nee Koen), Born in Rhodesia completed “A” Levels at Chaplin High School before studying Music and Fine Art at U.C.T.
She entered the South African Art Scene in 2000 through the Watercolour Society of South Africa (WSSA) where she qualified as a Higher Associate. For the following 14 years, her involvement with the WSSA included being Chairperson, Judge and Curator of Manor Gallery at Norscot Manor in Sandton.
Now based in Sedgefield, Zanne works from her home art studio on the Village Green near the edge of the lagoon. She draws quiet inspiration from the rhythms of the Garden Route and is thrilled to be involved in the very busy Garden Route Art scene.
Watercolour is her “First Language”, but she is also very fluent in Oil, Pastel and Charcoal artwork.
Her work speaks softly, simply, honestly and quietly, each piece telling a beautiful story that you feel before you fully see.
