Valda Preen

I attempt to create work that is conceptual, as well as aesthetically pleasing, and have moved from landscapes to exploring the human form. I am extremely interested in the visual history of art through the ages, and the complexity of human relationships, which shape our past as well as our future. Other than some oil painting with nature as the source, I work mainly with multi-media drawings, mono-prints and paintings from life models, which are then collaged into paintings, to retain the vitality and freshness of initial mark making. I currently teach adult art classes.
