Johannes Du Plessis
Distinct Contemporary expressionistic style.
Johannes du Plessis uses his distinct figurative cubist style to express his love of form and nature. Johannes was born in the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa in 1953. He studied privately from 1968 ? 1971 under the South African sculptress, Maureen Quin. Johannes studied further at Potchefstroom University and the Port Elizabeth Technikon gaining a higher National Diploma in Fine Arts (sculpture and drawing). Profile: 1982 ? Illustrator for publishing company Maskew Miller CT and the studio manager for several silkscreen clothing manufactures in Cape Town. 1988 ? became a full-time professional painter and sculptor.
