My approach to colour is one that looks at the way that light interacts with an object and try to capture that moment. My mission in regard to my art is to enjoy: let my 'inner child' come out to play on the canvass. I enjoy trying to capture movement in water, reflections in water, working "plaine aire" in & about the Harties area. I chose waterfalls, stepping stone & water in general in many of my pieces as there is never 2 days that offer the same view of the subject: a cloud moves, sun shines, it rains etc & the entire subject is different. This gives me a single viewing point and endless adaptations of the view. Although correct composition is important, I try & follow my eye & instincts when collecting a form on canvas: 'If it looks right in nature, don't mess with it!'
