I work with found objects - wood, metal, plastic, discarded utensils etc. I combine the different materials into subtle and satirical portraits of characters from everyday life. The narrative of the posture, material and facial expressions of the sculptures, gives the viewer freedom of subjective interpretation. I prefer being guided by my materials. Characters evolve from the subconscious into recognisable, nostalgic figures. My sculptures often comment on social or political matters, highlighting the truth and the beauty in normalcy.
