Sally Scott

I spent most of my childhood in the foothills of the Nyanga Mountains in Zimbabwe. This laid the foundation for my fascination with the natural world and the continent's remaining wilderness areas, including areas of the Okavango Delta, Kalahari Desert, Richtersveld and Namibia. These places and their people have provided rich material for my art. My fibre art is abstract, whilst the landscapes are representational, but through both, I aim to capture the 'spirit of place'. All of my art is a reflection of my life experience and as such, has become an integral part of that experience. Without my art, I would not be who I am. Without my life, my work would not be as it is.
