Anne Cleveland

35 years of experience has broadened and deepened my appreciation of art. When planning a painting I explore my choice of subject deeply, and like to express emotion through my use of colour and brush strokes. Colour excites me, it is an endless source of fascination, as one colour speaks to another. I feel that it is important to take risks, and I continually challenge myself to experiment and discover. I love working with mixed media, and am now using collage and fiber art. There are endless possibilities, and by combining different techniques there is always the chance to create something unexpected. I enjoy sharing my experiences with other artists, and have started an art group. I hold teaching workshops for the Botanical Society, and at a local gallery. I have written a successful art book with a friend, and am currently working on a second art book. I feel passionate about conservation, and my work has been bought at auction by serious collectors.
