MARGIE FORD

I studied painting and sculpture, and began mosaicking for the pleasure of combining the colour of paint and the technical journey of sculpture. My inspiration has always been nature and the patterns of organic growth and motion. I experiment with a range of materials. The opportunity to recycle our discards and transform them into something beautiful is valuable and fascinating. My work is often gestural and rough and this contrasts with the painstaking process of the medium. I have completed numerous public and private commissions both in South Africa and internationally.
