My work takes reference from the natural and anatomical style found in old biological reference books, as I have always been influenced by my love of history and classical antiquity. Classical fairy tales inspire me too. The whimsical and ethereal subject matter juxtaposed by the muted palettes I use, adds to the earthiness and otherworldly feel I like to convey. I tend to draw from nature as well as a constructed nature in fantasy imagery. I have no common form or composition in my work, I let each piece emerge as it will. I have no other aim than to please the eye and convey a certain emotion.
