My main interest lies in visual narrative and thus my work deals primarily with exploring the narrative quality of illustration. The stories I tell come from many sources, but are most often inspired by family history, folklore, the world of daydreams and observations of everyday life. I employ a variety of mediums and vary the use of colour, composition and technique to find an approach best suited to tell a specific story, which can be contained in one image, or a series of illustrations. Although narrative is my focus, I aim to keep my work open-ended to encourage viewers to participate in the storytelling.
