My subject matter is varied, from still life, landscapes, portraits and animals to montage type paintings with content. My aim is always to stress that the painting is an artefact, and not a photograph, so I look for ways to reduce the realism without compromising the integrity of the subject. My intention is to express my feeling about the subject matter, rather than to describe exactly how I see it.
