SAS KLOPPERS

As an artist, author, researcher and ethnologist, I have travelled and exhibited widely in Africa and South Africa. I find my inspiration in the cultures of Africa. To me Africa is colour, rhythm and ritual. As early people moved through Africa and made it their own, I allow myself the privilege to 'journey' through their past, the myths and magic of Africa, to discover it and, with modest hand, portray aspects of it on canvas, always trying to bring to the fore the spirituality that underlies African cosmology and trance symbolism.
