JOAN ABRAHAMS

As an artist, I am inspired by other artists, both modernist and contemporary, as well as Afro/Eurocentric influences. My paintings integrate narrative and identity, both historically and geographically and comment on issues of psycho-socio-political significance. Colour is used from dark to light moving downwards. The painting includes smaller paintings of an early gold mine and an image of a school as well as stylized images of trees.
